The 1967 Patterson–Gimlin film was shot at Bluff Creek to the north, and the Willow Creek–China Flat Museum houses the Bigfoot Collection, a permanent exhibit of casts and records. The town leans into it with a Bigfoot statue downtown and an annual Bigfoot Days celebration.

About an hour east on Highway 299, roughly 40 miles. The road is paved and open year round but is winding, so allow extra time in rain or snow.
